Cookie Policy
Last updated: 16 June 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage that AssignAI uses. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. “Local storage” is a similar mechanism for saving small amounts of information in your browser. Both let a site remember things between visits.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the Service to work and cannot be switched off:
- Authentication / session — set by our auth provider (Supabase) to keep you signed in.
- Checkout — set by Stripe during payment to process your subscription securely.
3. Functional browser storage
We store a few preferences in your browser’s local storage so the app works the way you left it:
- Theme (
assignai.theme) — your light/dark choice. - Preferences (
assignai.preferences.v1) — your default citation style and draft type. - Profile (
assignai.profile.v1) — an optional university and course you enter, kept on your device only. - Selected plan (
assignai.intendedPlan.v1) — remembers a plan you chose while signing up. - Pending output (
assignai.lockedOutput.v1) — a temporary pointer so a generated result is not lost during checkout.
4. No advertising or analytics tracking
We do not use advertising cookies, marketing pixels, or third-party analytics/tracking cookies. Because we only use strictly-necessary and functional storage, no cookie-consent banner is required.
5. Managing cookies and storage
You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time. Doing so will sign you out and reset your saved preferences. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may stop the Service from working.
6. Changes & contact
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Questions? Email support@myassign.ai.
